Haveri: A deputy tahsildar and a computer operator from the revenue office were arrested by Lokayukta officials for demanding bribes and accepting advance payments to process family tree applications. Nagaraj Suryavanshi, deputy tahsildar of Bommanahalli revenue office in Hangal taluk, and Kiran Mudakannanavar, a computer operator, were arrested. The complainant, Gangadhar Kyatanakeri from Yalavatti in Hangal Taluk, applied for a family tree certificate for his relative Dayanand Rudrappa Yaligar at the Bommanahalli revenue office. The accused initially demanded a bribe of Rs 15,000 and accepted an advance of Rs 2,000, when Lokayukta officials trapped them.
