Davanagere: The first additional district and sessions court of Davanagere sentenced Saleem, a resident of Chitradurga, to 10 years in prison and imposed a fine of Rs 24,000 for attempting to murder his wife by assaulting her. On April 11, 2024, he attempted to murder his wife, Asma Khan, by stabbing her six times in the stomach, chest, back, and thigh. A case of attempted murder was registered at Channagiri police station. Investigating officer PSI Mohammad Saifuddin submitted the chargesheet to the court.
