Villager found dead in Balugodu village

Madikeri: The villager who went missing was found dead in Balugodu village.PP Lokesh, a resident of Balugodu under RG gram panchayat limits, was found dead. Lokesh, who lived in Balugodu village, left home on Sept 29 after a fight with his wife over a minor issue and did not return, police said. He was not found after a search by his family and villagers. Later, a missing case was registered at Virajpet Rural police station following a complaint by his wife, Leelavati. Lokesh’s body was found in a garden on Oct 5. The body was in a decomposed state, and police shifted the body to the Virajpet Govt Hospital. The postmortem will determine the cause of his death, police said.Man drowns in the Harangi canal A 28-year-old man who went for a swim in the Harangi canal drowned in Hudugur village under Kudige gram panchayat limits. Santhosh, a milk delivery driver from Kudige, went to Hudugur to attend a funeral and later went to the Harangi canal with his friends for a bath when the accident occurred. The fire brigade conducted a search operation for the body and stopped the water supply in the canal for a few hours until the body was found.Kushalnagar Rural police visited the spot and registered a case.
