Sponsorship drive begins for Int’l badminton event

Mangaluru: The organisers of the first Chief Minister’s Mangalore India International Badminton Tournament 2025 have begun a drive to attract sponsors for the smooth conduct of the event. The ‘Mangalore India International Challenge 2025′ will be organised by the Karnataka Badminton Association (KBA) and Dakshina Kannada Badminton Association (DKBA) at Urwa Indoor Stadium from Saturday to Nov 2.The organisers have set Rs 50 lakh + GST for main sponsorship, which will include 15 banner spaces, two boards at each court, logo display, logos on trophies, apparel branding, two exhibition stalls, media exposure, and other privileges. Meanwhile, platinum sponsorship is priced at Rs 25 lakh + GST, which includes 10 banner spaces, two boards at each court, logo display, logo on trophies, one exhibition stall, apparel branding, media exposure, and other privileges. In addition, sponsors may also choose gold, silver, or bronze sponsorship, which will be offered at Rs 15 lakh, Rs 10 lakh, and Rs 5 lakh (+GST), respectively.DKBA president Santhosh Kumar Shetty said that they have already begun campaigns to promote the event and attract sponsors. “We have already approached major companies and institutions requesting them to sponsor the event. Many have given assurance, and we are expecting their official communication. While we made an estimate of Rs 2.8 crore for the event, chief minister Siddaramaiah sanctioned Rs 1 crore. An estimate of Rs 55 lakh has been prepared for the prize money, trophies, medals, mementos, certificates, opening, and closing ceremonies,” he said.Meanwhile, the organisers are also focusing on various facilities to be arranged for the convenience of national and international players as well as spectators at the venue. All works related to the court, including the lighting as per international standards, were completed, he said.“Since the event will witness the participation of over 450 international and national players, we have planned to organise several cultural events in coordination with the Alva’s Education Foundation. Meanwhile, Mangaluru City Corporation (MCC) has been requested to beautify the surrounding areas and roads to make the place more attractive. The event would help in branding Mangaluru as a global sports and tourism hub, boosting the economy and business, and encouraging young players at the grassroots,” said Shetty.
