Police arrest two accused for evading court appearances

Mangaluru City police arrested two individuals, accused of evading court appearance. Sheikh Shahbaz, 31, from Mangaluru, was evading court appearance for the past five years in separate cases related to Barke police station and Mangaluru East police station. Mohammad Nizamuddin, alias Bro Nizam, 30, from Kasaba Bengre, Mangaluru, who was avoiding court appearance for the past year.Mangaluru City police commissioner Sudheer Kumar Reddy said that Sheikh Shahbaz was found hiding in Suruguru, in Indupur taluk of Sri Sathya Sai district, Andhra Pradesh. He was successfully arrested on Sept 24 by head constables Chetan BR and Mohan from Barke station. He was presented in the court on Sept 25.A case has been registered against him at Barke police station under section 269 BNS, for evading court appearances. He has multiple cases registered against him at Barke, Mangaluru North, Mangaluru South, and Konaje police stations.Mohammad Nizamuddin, also known as Bro Nizam, was arrested by ASI Machhendranath Jogi, head constables Narappa, Abhishek, and PC Vittal Gadad from Mangaluru East police station under the guidance of inspector Ananthapadmanabha on Sept 25. He will be presented in court on the same day, said the commissioner.A case has been registered against him at Mangaluru East police station under section 269 BNS for evading court appearances. He also has warrants against him in Bantwal town police station under section 303(2) BNS and Udupi town police station under sections 331(4), 305, 238 along with 3(5) BNS. He was evading court appearances and has various cases registered against him in Mangalore East, Panambur, Urwa, and Mangaluru South police stations.
