Kalaburagi: A girl died, and four children were seriously injured when a wall collapsed due to torrential rain in Yadrami town in Kalaburagi district on early hours of Monday at 2.30am. Sania Tamboli, 16, of Yadrami town, was identified as the deceased girl.In the incident, the girl’s sisters and brothers, Mehboob Tamboli, Nishad Tamboli, Aisha Tamboli, and Ranjanabi Tamboli, were injured in the debris of the building. Locals said that they escaped with their lives.Due to heavy rain, the wall collapsed, and five children were trapped under the debris. Four children were pulled out immediately, but it took some time to pull out Sania. Sania, who was seriously injured, was immediately taken to Yadrami taluk hospital. However, eyewitnesses alleged that she died because there was no doctor to treat her in the hospital.Although Yadrami is a taluk, there are no good facilities for the public. Alleging that the daughter of a poor family was unjustly killed, locals have demanded that MLAs, district, and taluk officials should immediately announce a compensation of Rs 25 lakh to the family. Locals protested in front of the taluk hospital along with the body of the deceased girl.
