Udupi: Three students have been booked on charges of drug consumption and assault, following a campus brawl. The accused are Krish Malav, Raj Veer, and Vikram Veer. They were arrested and produced before a court on Friday, which remanded them in judicial custody.According to police, the incident was uncovered following a brawl. On Thursday, Raj Girish Suvarna appeared before the police and lodged a complaint, claiming that he and his friend Satvik Bhandari, studying business management in Manipal, were threatened and assualted. Around 10.55 am, while they were in class, the accused allegedly verbally abused Raj Girish Suvarna and Satvik Bhandari using foul language, threatened to kill them, and assaulted them. As a result, Satvik sustained a fracture in his left shoulder bone.Accordingly, a case was registered at the Manipal police station under Sections 126(2) (wrongful restraint), 352(2) (intentional insult to provoke a breach of public peace), 351(2) (criminal intimidation), 117(3) (voluntarily causing grievous hurt) read with 3(5) (common inteintion) BNS against the three accused. The investigation revealed that the accused were students and had consumed drugs.
