Gadag: Three people, including two police constables, were killed in a road crash at Harlapur on Thursday evening. The crash occurred when a Gadag-bound car crossed the divider and rammed into a Hosapete-bound Goa bus. The deceased were identified as Iranna Uppar, 38, a constable at the Koppal district police control room, Arjun Nellur, 34, a constable at the Haveri district police control room, and his relative Ravi Nellur, 35. Gadag rural police said that prima facie, it looks like the car driver lost control. The Goa bus driver and conductor said that the car was speeding and was thrown off after ramming the bus. Vehicle remnants were spread across the road. It is said that constables Nellur and Uppar joined the police department seven years ago, and their weddings were supposed to take place in the coming month of Karthika.
