Udupi: Udupi Town police arrested a man for allegedly peddling narcotic substances, including MDMA and ganja. Police seized drugs and other items worth Rs 43,800 during a raid conducted near Garadi Road in Moodanidambur village on Tuesday.According to police, the accused is Iqbal,33, a resident of Moodanidambur village, Udupi. Based on a tip-off, police conducted a raid, and upon interrogation, he confessed to carrying ganja and MDMA on his two-wheeler for sale in the Udupi-Manipal areas. A team led by Udupi Subdivision deputy superintendent of police Prabhu DT and Udupi Town police inspector Manjunath V Badiger conducted the raid.Police seized 205g of ganja in a plastic cover worth approximately Rs 12,600, MDMA worth Rs 2,500 in three ziplock packets, a weighing machine, 52 ziplock covers, an electronic vape, three plastic filters, a mobile phone, Rs 4,760 cash in a purse, and a two-wheeler. The total worth of seized drugs and articles amounts to Rs 43,800.A case was registered at Udupi Town police station under the NDPS Act. The accused was produced before a court.
