Drug bust in Bantwal: Police seize ganja, mobiles, knife, bike from 3 accused

MANGALURU: The Vittal police recently arrested three youths from Vittal Kasaba village for allegedly attempting to sell ganja. The accused are Sanath Kumar, 23, Mohammed Razik, 23, and Chethan, 23, from Vittal Kasaba village.According to the police, the incident took place on Monday when Vittal Police Station Sub-Inspector Ramakrishna and his staff received credible information. Acting on the tip-off, they conducted a check near Erumbu Road, Alike village, Bantwal taluk, where three suspicious persons were found standing with a two-wheeler. Upon inspection, it was found that they were in possession of ganja in a motorcycle and were attempting to sell it to customers.The police seized 6.27g ganja, three mobile phones, a small knife, and a two-wheeler. The accused were taken into custody, and a case was registered at Vittal Police Station under Sections 8(b), 20(b)(ii)(A) of the NDPS Act read with Section 3(5) of the BNS 2023. During further investigation, another accused, Dhyan Karkera, 23, a resident of Erme Majalu, was also taken into custody, and the investigation is ongoing.
