Kalaburagi: Heavy rain on Friday caused a stream in Balavadagi village, Chittapur taluk, Kalaburagi district, to overflow, leading to the flooding of houses and significant losses, including foodgrains. The affected residents were rescued and relocated to a rehabilitation centre opened at the govt school in the village. Kalaburagi DC B Fauzia Tarannum met the victims at the rehabilitation centre. During her visit, Tarannum directed the officials to expedite relief efforts for the flooded houses. She instructed the medical team to provide appropriate treatment to pregnant women. Additionally, she requested the cleaning of drains and the supply of clean drinking water. Tahsildar Nagayya Hiremath suggested an action plan to prevent such incidents in future. Later, Tarannum visited Nagavi village in the taluk to inspect the crop damage caused by rains over the past two days.
