Mangaluru: Karkala Town police registered a case against right-wing activist Ravish Thantri Kuntar for allegedly delivering a provocative speech at a programme held in Kukkundoor village.Police said that the Dharmasthala Abhimanigala Vedike held a ‘janagraha sabhe’ at a ground in front of Kukkundoor gram panchayat on Wednesday. Ravish, a leader of the Hindu Aikya Vedike, Kerala, was the keynote speaker. During the meet, he allegedly delivered a provocative speech intentionally to breach peace in society.Karkala police registered a case under Sections 353(2) and 196(1)(a) of the BNS. Meanwhile, in Mangaluru, the BJP Yuva Morcha Dakshina Kannada district president Nandan Mallya filed a complaint against Udupi District Congress social media cell president Roshan Shetty. Mallya filed a complaint at the Barke police station against Shetty for allegedly posting messages on Facebook that were seen as a threat to India’s sovereignty, unity, and integrity.62-year-old loses Rs 50L to online fraudA complainant who clicked a fraudulent stock trading link via WhatsApp lost Rs 50.2 lakh in phases. According to the complainant, Rajasekhar,62, from Ambalpadi, someone added him to a WhatsApp group, and the group’s admin provided a link to open a securities trading web/app. The complainant invested approximately Rs 52.7 lakh in stages from July 16 to Aug 13, out of which he withdrew Rs 2.5 lakh. When he attempted to withdraw the remaining amount, he was unable to do so.A case has been registered at the Udupi cybercrime police station.
