Mandya: A week after her engagement was called off, a 26-year-old woman allegedly ended her life at her workplace in the Farmers’ Contact Centre at Kikkeri village on Friday.The deceased is Kavya, 26, a resident of Valagere Menasa village in the same taluk.Police said Kavya was engaged to a man from Hassan about 15 days ago. However, the groom’s family reportedly called off the engagement just a week back. Deeply distressed over the development, Kavya allegedly consumed pesticides before arriving at her office on Friday morning. When colleagues realised about her condition, they immediately rushed her to a local hospital, from where she was shifted to a private hospital in Mysuru.
