Udupi: Malpe police arrested three persons and seized ganja and MDMA worth over Rs 13,000, along with a motorcycle valued at Rs 1.5 lakh, during a raid near Sri Bobbarya Daivasthana in Padutonse village on Friday.The accused are Achyutha N alias Kiran Mendon,45, from Ashoknagar, Mangaluru; Puneeth alias Puneeth Raj,24, from Padutonse, Udupi; and Chandrakant Katwa, a resident of Odisha, presently residing at Padutonse, Malpe. Another suspect, Kishore of Kolalgiri, is absconding.According to police, on Friday, based on credible information that four persons were selling ganja near the Daivasthana, Padutonse village sub-inspector Anil Kumar D, Malpe police Station, along with his staff, proceeded to the spot. At the location, four persons were found with a motorcycle. On seeing the police, one individual seated on the back of a motorcycle fled, while the remaining three were secured and interrogated.Upon inspection of the motorcycle, small packets of ganja and MDMA were found hidden under the seat. Police seized ganja worth approximately Rs 3,000 and MDMA worth approximately Rs 10,000. Preliminary investigation revealed that the accused were waiting to sell ganja illegally. A case was registered at Malpe police station under the NDPS Act.
