Equity markets are expected to remain in focus as investors assess global cues, crude oil movements, foreign fund flows and regulatory changes. BSE Sensex and NSE Nifty50 staged a strong recovery in the previous session, gaining 2.11% and 1.66%, respectively, with buying across IT, auto and private banking stocks.

However, selling in IDBI Bank, PSU banks and media stocks highlighted the mixed sectoral performance. The outlook for the next session points to a higher opening, with GIFT Nifty indicating positive momentum. Falling US Treasury yields and SEBI’s revised approach to settling expiring derivatives contracts could support sentiment.

However, continued foreign investor selling, elevated oil prices and inflation concerns remain key factors to watch as markets assess the sustainability of the recovery.
