Mangaluru: A constable attached to the Moodbidri police station was suspended after a case was booked against him for stalking. The accused is Shantappa Kushtagi.According to a police source, a woman appeared before the Moodbidri police in connection with a complaint of domestic violence on Aug 23. The accused was posted on sentry duty at the police station, responsible for maintaining a register of visitors that includes their phone numbers and purpose of visit. It is learnt that from Aug 25, he allegedly continuously started making calls and harassing her. Based on a complaint filed on Sept 1, a case was registered under Section 78 of the BNS, following which he was suspended pending inquiry.
