Kalaburagi: A bus driver allegedly hanged himself in a KKRTC bus parked at the bus depot in Bidar on Wednesday night. The deceased is Rajkumar, 59, a resident of Anadur village on the outskirts of Bidar city. He was the driver of a sleeper coach bus scheduled to travel from Bidar to Bellari and was set to retire in five months. The bus was due to depart Bidar for Bellari at 8pm. Officials later assigned another driver to Bellari as Rajkumar’s phone was switched off on Wednesday night. Bus depot staff became aware of the death on Thursday morning. The staff of the depot protested and alleged that the harassment by higher officers led Rajkumar to to take this extreme step.
