Belagavi: Belagavi MP Jagadish Shettar said, “DCM DK Shivakumar has sung the RSS anthem in the assembly, supporting the ideology of the organisation, which works for the welfare and unity of Hindus. Not just Shivkumar, but many leaders in the Congress are in favour of the RSS.“Shettar told reporters, “Shivakumar expressed what was in his heart. Though he later apologised, realising he belongs to Congress, he already showed his conscience by singing the RSS anthem, and that too inside the assembly.”Shettar further claimed that factionalism within the ruling Congress was at its peak, with one group pushing to unseat CM Siddaramaiah and replace him with Shivakumar. “This infighting could eventually lead to the govt’s collapse. The BJP has nothing to do with it, but someone could play the role of an Eknath Shinde and seize the opportunity,” he remarked.On Shivakumar’s recent comment that the Chamundeshwari Temple ‘belongs to all and not exclusively to Hindus,’ Shettar advised him to study Hindu culture and philosophy. “Chamundeshwari is a Hindu temple. Shivakumar seems confused and disturbed after singing the RSS anthem in the assembly,” he added.Shettar also backed the BJP’s opposition to International Booker Prize winner Banu Mushtaq, inaugurating Mysuru Dasara. On the Dharmasthala case, Shettar said: “Those who attempted to malign the holy place have now been exposed before the public, with complainants turning against the accused.”
