NEW DELHI: The Indian Premier League 2026 clash between Delhi Capitals and Punjab Kings turned into a record-laden spectacle, with milestones tumbling thick and fast. After commanding knocks from KL Rahul and Nitish Rana for Delhi Capitals, Punjab Kings opener Prabhsimran Singh carved his name into an elite IPL list.Prabhsimran became only the third batter in IPL history to smash six boundaries in a single over. The blistering assault came against Mukesh Kumar, with the young opener hammering six fours in one over.
The rare feat was first achieved by Ajinkya Rahane in 2012 while representing Rajasthan Royals, when he struck six consecutive fours off Sreenath Aravind of Royal Challengers Bengaluru.Nearly nine years later, Prithvi Shaw replicated the feat in 2021 for Delhi Capitals. Facing Shivam Mavi of Kolkata Knight Riders, Shaw slammed six fours in the very first over of the innings, becoming the first batter to do so during the powerplay. Now, Prabhsimran has joined this exclusive club, further highlighting the IPL’s reputation as a stage for fearless stroke-play.He capped off his sensational outing with a blistering 76 off just 26 balls before being dismissed by Kuldeep Yadav.Six fours in an over in the IPL
