Shivamogga: School education minister S Madhu Bangarappa on Saturday promised that Chandragutti Renukamba Temple will undergo a complete transformation, with all basic amenities in place, before the next annual fair.Speaking after laying the foundation stone for infrastructure projects worth Rs 2.9 crore and chairing a public grievance meeting on Saturday, the minister said the recently formed Chandragutti Temple Development Authority will ensure the site’s holistic growth.The planned improvements include the construction of new exit stairs with roofing to complement the existing entrance, as well as urgent repairs to the temple’s leaking roof and damaged windows.To accommodate the large influx of devotees during festivals, the govt plans to develop 10 acres of land, currently under the forest department, to build dormitories, toilets, and parking facilities. Work on these amenities will commence soon after receiving forest department clearance.Highlighting the region’s tourism potential, the minister noted that Soraba taluk, featuring Gudavi, Kotipura, Chandragutti, and Banavasi, is a vital part of the district’s 64 identified tourist spots.
