Mysuru’s progress credited to Siddaramaiah, while Wadiyar contributed to social justice, says Mahadevappa | Mysuru News

Davanagere: HC Mahadevappa, the social welfare minister, acknowledged that while Mysuru’s current development can be attributed to Siddaramaiah, Nalwadi Krishnaraja Wadiyar made significant contributions towards establishing an egalitarian society centred on social justice.During a press interaction on Sunday, he emphasised that direct comparisons between individuals are unsuitable, and the parallel between Siddaramaiah and Nalwadi Krishnaraja Wadiyar strictly relates to their accomplishments. “BJP leaders, with their biased perspective, view everything negatively,” Mahadevappa stated.Addressing queries about Surjewala’s position as a ‘Super CM’, the minister stated that the Congress has separated from govt functions, without any documented cases of supervisors criticising ministers or legislators. He noted their dedication to internal reservations resulted in establishing the Sadashiva Commission in 1992. He mentioned that during the BJP govt, Narayanaswamy held ministerial positions at both the central and state levels. “The central govt declared in Parliament that internal reservations cannot be implemented for any reason,” he stated.Mahadevappa added that they approached the Centre regarding internal reservation approval. He noted that the Supreme Court assigned this authority to state govts, and Justice Nag Mohan Das was selected to head the committee. He explained that internal reservations would be implemented under particular conditions once established in the state. “It is paradoxical that the BJP, which has historically opposed social justice, now plans to protest for political advantages,” he remarked.
