Bengaluru: Kumara Park played host to a morning of nostalgia and gratitude Monday as the 1975 batch of Kendriya Vidyalaya-Malleshwaram (KVM), northwest Bengaluru, marked 50 years since passing out.About 30 alumni gathered at a local eatery for a Golden Jubilee breakfast, many travelling from across the globe to honour 15 of their founding teachers, now in their 80s, who helped establish the school in 1966. Over a traditional Bengaluru tiffin, former students reconnected with the mentors who shaped their lives six decades ago.
The batch includes leaders in medicine, engineering and industry, but the mood remained one of humility and reverence. “The secret to our success was the incredibly strong foundation that KV Malleshwaram gave us,” said Madhwesh R, an alumnus who flew in from California. “That foundation, combined with hard work, perseverance and a bit of luck, made all the difference. We owe a debt of gratitude to the teachers who started it all.“Reflecting on the bond he has with his students, teacher Ayyappan Nair said, “A teacher’s true wealth is the respect of their students. Whether it’s a senior doctor who refuses to accept my fees and instead asks for a hug, or the gathering we have today, these moments are our real certificates of success.
