Koppal: BJP MLC Hemalatha Nayak on Sunday strongly condemned the remarks made by Congress leaders regarding incidents reported from various parts of the state, including Hubballi, Koppal and Ballari, accusing them of attempting to mislead the public and divert attention from administrative failures. In a statement, Nayak said the Congress was deliberately distorting facts to gain political mileage. The MLC criticised the Congress leaders for comments that undermined the dignity of women by trivialising the Hubballi women’s case as merely a “drama”. She condemned this behaviour as indicative of their moral decay, stating that the party leadership forfeited the moral authority to discuss women’s safety.Taking exception to remarks made on the Hubballi woman’s case, the MLC criticised Congress leaders for trivialising the issue by calling it a “drama”. She said such statements reflected the party’s moral decline, adding that the Congress leadership had lost the moral authority to speak on women’s safety.Recalling the chaos during the visit of Union minister of state for railways V Somanna to Koppal, Nayak termed the conduct of district in-charge minister Shivaraj Tangadagi, MP K Rajashekar Hitnal and MLA K Raghavendra Hitnal as anarchic.Commenting on the Ballari incident, she described the Congress’s version as vague and misleading. Nayak claimed that investigations revealed a Congress leader’s gunman had fired at a Congress worker, but alleged that the party was attempting to suppress this fact and politicise the issue. She further criticised the Congress govt over what she called the failure of its guarantee schemes and referred to the Inam Veerapur incident as heinous. Describing the Ranjitha murder case in Yallapur as a case of love jihad, she also expressed serious concern over the rising menace of drug trafficking in the state.“Taking all these incidents into account, it is clear that the home minister has completely failed. The Congress govt has utterly failed to maintain law and order, and the people of the state will soon give an appropriate response,” Nayak said.
