Vijayapura: Despite passing NEET and securing MBBS seats under the govt quota, six talented but financially struggling students received financial aid from BLDE Institute’s president and minister MB Patil.On Sunday, at his home office in the city, the minister distributed cheques to cover the first-year tuition fees, meals, and accommodation (hostel and mess) for the six students enrolled in the MBBS course. Patil advised these students to focus on their studies, emphasising that the financial support provided should be used wisely to bring honour to their families and to the Vijayapura district. He distributed cheques for all six students’ first-year fees, totalling Rs 10.6 lakh.Beneficiary student Sudeep Basavaraj Bavalatti from Halagani village in Bableshwar taluk secured a rank of 43,481 in NEET and gained admission to Koppal Institute of Medical Sciences. His father is unwell, and his mother works as a domestic helper. Sachin Bhimanna Mali from Tikota town secured a rank of 75,173 in NEET. His father works as a labourer, and his mother Savita is a homemaker. He gained admission to S Nijalingappa Medical College in Bagalkot. Pratiksha Ganapati Shinde from Babanagar in Tikota taluk secured a rank of 1,75,450 in NEET. Her father works as a labourer, and her mother Sunanda is a homemaker. She gained admission to AJ Institute of Medical Sciences in Mangaluru. Sandesh Shivaji Nandyal from Bolachikkalaki village in Bableshwar taluk secured a rank of 1,62,446 in NEET. He gained admission to Haveri Institute of Medical Sciences. His father is a farmer, and his mother Yashoda is a homemaker.Bhavani Bagali from Nagathana in Vijayapura taluk secured a rank of 1,00,195 in NEET. Her parents, Mallikarjun and Mallamma, are farmers. She gained admission to Adichunchanagiri Medical College in Bellur, Nagamangala Taluk, Mandya district. Rohit Rathod from Hanchinal LT-3 in Tikota Taluk secured a rank of 1,10,929 in NEET. He gained admission to Kasturba Medical College in Mangaluru. His father Ashok is deceased, and his mother Sunita runs a tea shop with her elder son in Vijayapura.Students and their parents expressed their gratitude to the minister.
