Bengaluru: A fire broke out due to a short circuit in the electric meter in a four-storey residential building at Krishna Layout in Devarachikkanahalli, south Bengaluru, around 2.40am Tuesday. Four residents, including three from a family, were injured.The injured are Sheela, 44, her husband Gopi, 49, their son Abhishek, and Ramya, 28, said deputy commissioner of police (Electronics City) Narayana M. The injured were shifted to Victoria Hospital’s burns ward. Two more persons on the third floor of the building sustained minor injuries and are out of danger. The injuries were due to the blast of two-wheelers and electric connections, Narayana said. The fire spread to two-wheelers parked in the passage of the building. Residents noticed the smoke and alerted police and fire and emergency officials. Before Hoysala police rushed to the spot, residents started pouring water on the flames with buckets and water pipes.
