Writer, publisher Asha Raghu dies by suicide in Bengaluru

Bengaluru: Well-known publisher and writer Asha Raghu, 46, allegedly died by suicide in her Malleswaram apartment Saturday morning. The incident came to light when her daughter, Upasana, and a nurse looking after Asha knocked on her bedroom door and received no response. With the help of neighbours, they broke open the door and found Asha hanging from the ceiling fan. Police said no suicide note was found.

According to her family, Asha lost her husband, KC Raghu, two years ago and had been struggling with health issues. She had hired a nurse for assistance. Upasana said she had given Asha her prescribed medicines Friday night, after which she went to her bedroom. Other than writing novels, Asha worked in the television industry as a dialogue writer and assistant director.
