BJP leaders and workers shouted slogans against the state govt during the protest.Shobha Nissimagoudar, state women’s wing general secretary, said that since the Congress govt came to power in the state, women did not have protection. She said the BJP previously protested against the illegal trafficking of young women in Hangal, but the chairperson of the women’s commission was only focused on social media reels, and the minister for women and child development showed no concern for women. She said even a mentally unstable person would not voluntarily disrobe, yet the Hubballi woman was accused of doing so herself. “The woman’s family is facing life threats and needs protection, failing which there will be intense protests,” she warned.BJP district president Virupakshappa Ballari said the home department was acting as a puppet of the Congress in the state. Former minister BC Patil, former legislators Shivaraj Sajjanar and Arun Kumar Pujar, leaders Gavisiddappa Dyamannavar, Siddaraj Kalkoti, K Shivalingappa, Rudresh Chinnannanavar, and others were present.BoxBC Patil defends VB-G RAM GFormer agriculture minister BC Patil said at a press conference on Saturday that the central govt implemented the VB-G RAM G scheme to prevent corruption in the MGNREGA scheme and to give more power to village panchayats. He said Congress was spreading false information about the scheme because it would no longer have the opportunity to embezzle funds. BJP introduced changes through the VB-G RAM G scheme, including GPS tracking and technological systems, to curb embezzlement and ensure people benefited from the scheme, “CM and deputy CM were misleading people. The VB-G RAM G scheme, a 60:40 funding ratio, should be provided, giving more power to village panchayats,” he clarified.
