ZP CEO inspects JJ mission works in Mandya

Mandya: Zilla panchayat chief executive officer KR Nandini conducted an on-site inspection of the quality and progress of works being implemented under the Jal Jeevan Mission across various parts of Mandya district.She reviewed project details and sought comprehensive updates from executive engineers on the current status of implementation. The CEO visited Hanakere village in Mandya taluk, Gudigere and Yaladahalli villages in Maddur taluk, and Kemboothagere village in Malavalli taluk.During the inspection, she directed officials to ensure that all infrastructure required for providing tap water connections to every household was completed in accordance with project guidelines. She instructed that completed works should be formally handed over to the respective gram panchayats without delay.Addressing public grievances, Nandini observed that several complaints were received regarding roads being left uneven after excavation for pipeline installations. She instructed engineers to immediately restore such roads as per the prescribed standard operating procedures and submit a compliance report. She also stressed the need to expedite the completion of overhead tank (OHT) works and directed officials to take prompt action to secure handover of identified sites from authorities concerned.She instructed gram panchayat watermen to conduct daily inspections of distribution pipelines and ensure immediate repairs of any leakages to prevent contamination. Panchayat development officers were directed to safeguard the assets created under drinking water schemes, ensure regular cleaning, and carry out periodic water quality tests using field test kits.Pramod Kumar, executive engineer of rural drinking water and sanitation department, and assistant executive engineers Ganesh Hegde (Mandya subdivision), Madhusudhan (Maddur subdivision), and Rangaswamy (Malavalli subdivision) were also present.
