Mangaluru: A youth from Puttur taluk working in a chartered accountant firm in Mangaluru died after collapsing during a trek to Konaje Kallu in Moodbidri on Wednesday. The deceased is Manoj N,25, a resident of Irde village in Puttur taluk, Dakshina Kannada.According to police, the deceased was employed at a chartered accountant firm in Mangaluru and went trekking to Konaje Kallu in Padukonaje village, Moodbidri, along with his friend Karthik.At 8.30 am, after reaching the Konaje Kallu peak, Manoj began vomiting, felt weak, and soon became unresponsive. Seeing his friend’s condition, Karthik immediately called the 108 ambulance service. With the help of locals present at the spot, Manoj was shifted to the Moodbidri community health centre in the ambulance. However, doctors who examined him at the hospital declared him dead.Based on the statement of Manoj’s father, who suspected that his son might have died of a heart attack, a case was registered at Moodbidri police station under Section 194 of the BNSS.
