Kalaburagi: Yadgir police, in collaboration with women and child development officers, rescued a woman and her three-year-old daughter who were allegedly facing harassment by the woman’s husband and mother-in-law for the past five years.The rescue took place in Kodekal village under the Kodekal police limits, where the victims were found in agricultural fields, in poor health. The woman revealed that her husband and mother-in-law has issued death threats if she disclosed the harassment, forcing her to remain silent. Information about the woman’s condition was initially received through a women’s helpline call from an unnamed caller.District women and child protection officer Bheemaraya led the operation, coordinating with police security to rescue the woman and her daughter. Bheemaraya added that Mission Shakti One Centre administrative officer Shruthi and Pushpalatha, along with Hunasigi circle inspector Ravikumar, participated in the rescue mission.The woman, who is suffering from mental health issues, has been moved to a women’s rehabilitation centre in Yadgir. Surpur DSP Javed Inamdar stated that further action will be taken after the woman files a complaint.
