MADIKERI: As the caste census is scheduled to commence later this month, the Kodagu district President of the Vokkaligara Sangha, S M Chengappa, has appealed to the Vokkaliga community members to identify themselves as ‘Vokkaliga’ during the census.In a press release, he said that the govt is likely to consider the caste census data while formulating plans or programmes in the coming days. Therefore, he requested that no incorrect information be given for any reason. When the enumerators come to their homes, the Vokkaliga community should write ‘Vokkaliga’ without fail.The social, economic, and educational survey is being conducted through the Karnataka State Backward Classes Commission, and the Vokkaligara community should provide accurate and complete information. The truth should be told without giving false information about education, employment, property, or financial situation, he stated.
