Mangaluru: Stating that the conspiracy against the Sri Kshetra Dharmasthala poses a challenge to national security, the Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) Dakshina Kannada unit submitted a memorandum demanding investigation through the National Investigation Agency (NIA) and the Enforcement Directorate (ED).A delegation of VHP activists submitted a memorandum to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and home minister Amit Shah through Dakshina Kannada deputy commissioner Darshan HV on Tuesday.“There is a hand of anti-national elements behind the conspiracy aimed at disrupting the religious devotion associated with the Dharmasthala temple. The conspiracy was systematically crafted to tarnish Dharmasthala’s reputation on an international level. Some international media, known for their anti-India narratives, engaged in organised misinformation centred around the Dharmasthala temple. It is crucial to investigate the forces behind this,” they stated in the memorandum.Additionally, lakhs of rupees were spent to produce various short AI films, which were widely disseminated on social media at great expense. Reports suggest that substantial foreign funds were channelled for these activities, necessitating a thorough investigation, they demanded.“These developments pose a challenge to national security. Therefore, on behalf of the state’s people, a request was submitted to the Prime Minister and the home minister through the deputy commissioner, urging the central govt to immediately intervene and conduct a comprehensive investigation into the conspiracy against Dharmasthala through the NIA and ED. We hereby insist that the central govt initiate an investigation through the NIA and ED without delay,” stated VHP activists HK Purushotham, Ravi Asaigoli and Naveen Moodushedde.
