Mandya: The University of Agricultural Sciences (UAS), Mandya, will host its first-ever ‘Krishi Mela–2025′ from Nov 28 to 30 at the VC Farm. The theme for the mela is—Sustainability through Integrated Farming.KM Harinikumara, special officer, UAS Mandya, told reporters that until now, the annual Krishi Mela was organised by Bengaluru agricultural college and zonal agricultural research centre. “This will be the maiden Krishi Mela conducted by UAS Mandya,” he said. The mela aims to benefit farmers from Mandya, Mysuru, Hassan, Kodagu, and Chamarajanagar districts, providing them with expert consultation, farmer interactions, and access to agricultural implements, seeds, and publications. The event will discuss innovative technologies, new crop varieties, and agricultural advancements.A total of 350 stalls will feature in the agricultural exhibition, of which, 30 stalls are reserved for self-gelp groups (SHGs), farmer producer companies (FPOs), and nurseries.To inspire younger generation to take up agriculture, the mela will also highlight agri-startup innovations and conduct live demonstrations on seed production, processing, and modern cultivation techniques.GM Devagiri, director of research; Dr Ramachandra, director of extension; and AD Ranganath, associate director, were present.
