Trekking banned in Kudremukh National Park ahead of summer

Chikkamagaluru: Ahead of the onset of the summer season, the forest department has imposed an immediate ban on trekking activities in the Kudremukh National Park region to ensure visitor safety and prevent forest fire incidents.As per an order issued by the Kudremukh National Park authorities, trekking will not be permitted inside the national park, Someshwara Wildlife Sanctuary and Mookambika Wildlife Sanctuary until further notice.Officials concerned have been directed to deploy adequate guards to prevent access to all trekking routes within these protected areas.Several popular trekking destinations have been declared out of bounds, including Gangadikal Peak, Kudremukh Peak, Kurinjala Peak, Valikunja Trek (SK Border and Karvash routes), Narasimha Parvatha in Kigga and Mulandur, Kodachadri (Valuru and Hidlumane routes), Bandaje Volambra and the Netravati trek.
