Traffic advisory issued ahead of Karavali Utsava music festivals

Mangaluru: Mangaluru City police issued a traffic advisory in the backdrop of various events to be held at Tannirbhavi Beach as part of the Karavali Utsava.As part of the Karavali Utsava organised by the Dakshina Kannada district administration, music festivals, Kailash Kher Night, and Vijaya Prakash Night will be held at Tannirbhavi Beach on Saturday and Sunday evening. A large number of dignitaries and the public are expected to attend these events, which may lead to traffic congestion on the Kottara Chowki-Panambur National Highway and Tannirbhavi Road, said city police commissioner Sudheer Kumar Reddy.During the events, parking is prohibited on both sides of the road from Kudremukh Junction to Tannirbhavi Beach. Attendees are requested to park their vehicles only in designated parking areas on Tannirbhavi Beach Road. Signage will be installed along the route to guide parking, and attendees are encouraged to arrive early and park in the specified locations, the commissioner said.Designated parking areas include, Fiza Cricket Ground (in front of Hotel Nityadhar), Delta Ground Parking, Raftar Parking, Bengre Tannirbhavi Mosque Parking, Katte Ground Parking, Dost Ground, Fatima Church Parking, and AJ Shetty’s Ground (SEZ Road). Attendees can use the ferry from Sultan Battery for convenience. Due to potential traffic disruptions during the events, the public is urged to maintain discipline, avoid unnecessary stops on the road, and follow police instructions, he added.
