Mysuru: Chamarajanagar district cops arrested three persons on charges of murdering a senior citizen.According to police, the accused are Parashiva Murthy, Siddaraju, and Mahesh. HM Swamy, 73, was allegedly murdered by the trio as he asked them to return Rs 10,000 Murthy took from him. The trio picked up Swamy in their autorickshaw on Monday night, killed him by strangling him with a towel, and disposed of the body near Kamarahalli on the Chamarajanagar-Gundlupet road, police said. They also snatched Swamy’s gold chain, ring, and bracelet worn by the deceased, police said.Based on a complaint lodged by the deceased’s wife, Ammaiahbai, the police launched a probe and arrested the trio. Police said they have recovered the gold ornaments from them.
