She said that guardians should be careful about the elderly and children.Warm clothes should be worn to protect from the cold. People should stay indoors as much as possible. Be careful not to get clothes wet. Clothing should be changed quickly to prevent the loss of body heat when wet. People are advised to wear gloves and listen to the radio, watching TV, or read newspapers for weather updates.Water pipes can freeze due to the cold, so collect water in advance. Be on the lookout for symptoms of hypothermia, such as numbness and a white or pale fingers, toes, earlobes, and tip of the nose.In case of hypothermia, person should be moved to a warm place, and their clothes should be changed. Keep the body warm by skin-to-skin contact. Care should be taken to keep the person’s body warm with dry layers of blankets, clothes, and towels.Alcohol that lowers body temperature should not be consumed. Do not massage the hypothermic body part, as it can cause more damage.
