Bengaluru: Bangalore South MP Tejasvi Surya and former Tamil Nadu BJP president K Annamalai completed the Ironman 70.3 endurance race in Goa Sunday, joining thousands of participants from over 50 countries.This marks Surya’s second consecutive Ironman finish. He completed the triathlon — comprising a 1.9km swim, 90km cycling, and 21.1km run — in 7 hours and 49 minutes. Annamalai finished in 8 hours and 13 minutes.Surya said the race was “the ultimate test of physical and mental strength” and credited his achievement to rigorous training and the prime minister’s Fit India initiative. Calling for a culture of fitness, he urged youth to take up sports and endurance challenges. Annamalai said the event reflected the growing enthusiasm for fitness among Indians, adding that the Fit India initiative is inspiring more young people to make health a priority.
