Mangaluru: Swami Vivekananda saw the youth as a powerful driving force and an inspirational force for development, said P Pradeep Kumar, chairman, Karnataka Bank.“Vivekananda recognised the true strength of the youth and always emphasised on utilising this to transform the nation,” he said adding that learning about the world is a lifelong process.He spoke after inaugurating the National Youth Day held at Swami Vivekananda Sabha Hall of Ramakrishna Math, Mangaluru, as part of Amrita Mahotsava celebrations of the Mangaluru Ramakrishna Mission.The chief guest, N Ranganath Bhat, honorary secretary of the Mangaluru Canara High School association, said, “From my childhood, the thoughts of Swami Vivekananda influenced me in many ways. His words were a constant source of inspiration. Understanding Swami Vivekananda leads us towards a meaningful and fulfilled life.” Swami Jnananishanandaji, associate editor of Prabuddha Bharata monthly magazine of Advaita Ashrama, Mayavati, Uttarakhand, graced the occasion. Swami Jitakamanandaji, secretary, Mangaluru Ramakrishna Mission, delivered the introductory address. Writer and thinker Chakravarthy Sulibele was also present. More than 500 students from Karnataka Polytechnic, Mangaluru, and Niranjana Swamy Polytechnic, Srinivasa College participated in the programme.
