Suspended constable absconding after FIR in land-grabbing case in Bengaluru Rural district

Bengaluru: A head constable attached to Nelamangala Rural police station has been suspended by Bengaluru district superintendent of police CK Baba following an FIR against him in a land-grabbing case registered at Dobbaspete police station.The suspended constable is Girijesh, who is now absconding. He was earlier accused of extorting gold and cash from a 23-year-old woman who filed a complaint with Bagalagunte police station a few months ago. A retired private firm employee and farmer identified as Thampy Mathew, 67, a resident of NGEF Layout in Nagarabhavi, filed a complaint on Dec 8 against Girijesh and a few others, accusing them of land fraud involving forged documents, fake identities, and illegal registration of KIADB-acquired land bearing survey no 56/5 in Machenahalli village and survey no 47, Kambalu land in Sompura village in Nelamangala taluk.The Machenahalli land measures 5 acres and 0.12 guntas, and the Sompura land measures 2 acres and 13 guntas. He purchased the land in 2007. He found the documents were forged.
