Ballari: Agriculture minister N Cheluvarayaswamy said yesterday that the sugarcane farmers’ protest ended after a decision to secure better payments.He told reporters here on Saturday that the factories would pay Rs 3,250 per tonne and the govt would contribute Rs 50. Some minor issues remained, he added. The chief minister held continuous discussions with both factory owners and farmers yesterday to resolve outstanding disputes.On questions about the ‘November revolution’, the minister noted that ‘November is already over’ and said any related matters were left to the party’s high command. “Senior leaders will decide on issues such as a cabinet reshuffle,” he clarified.Contrasting his party with the BJP, he said the Congress was focused on its work. He pointed out that in the Bihar elections, the chief minister campaigned first, followed by the deputy chief minister and party president, and asserted there was no confusion within the party.
