Students protest delay in results and marks sheets at Gulbarga University

Kalaburagi: Students of colleges under Gulbarga University took to the streets on Friday to protest the delay in the release of BEd second-semester and final-year fourth-semester results for the year 2024-25 and to demand the immediate distribution of original marks sheets. They marched from Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel Circle to the DC’s office, blocked the road, and expressed their outrage. The agitators shouted slogans against the vice-chancellor of Gulbarga University, the registrar, and other officials concerned, including the evaluation registrar, and called for the swift publication of results and marks sheet distribution. Some students said they wrote their examinations and waited for the results and mark sheets for many months. They pointed to a rule requiring results to be published within 45 days of degree, post-graduation, or professional examinations, and alleged that Gulbarga University flouted this regulation. They added that they protested multiple times outside the Gulbarga University building and submitted a petition. They noted that the VC promised to announce the results within a month, but the announcement has not been made even after several months. The protesters also claimed that the govt called for TET exams but that they were unable to proceed without their results, which could prevent them from becoming teachers.
