Students need to pay more for SSLC exams

Bengaluru: Karnataka School Examination and Assessment Board (KSEAB) has announced a revision of SSLC examination fees for academic year 2025–26. As per a govt order, the board is authorised to increase examination fees by 5% annually. Following this directive, the revised fees have now been notified and will apply to all students registering for upcoming SSLC examinations.Under the new structure, first-time regular school students and private candidates appearing for SSLC examinations will now pay Rs 710, up from Rs 676. New private candidates registering for the exams will see their registration and application fees rise from Rs 236 to Rs 248, while those renewing their registration will pay Rs 72 instead of Rs 69. Repeater candidates, both school and private, will face revised fees based on the number of subjects: Rs 471 for one subject, Rs 559 for two, and Rs 752 for three or more subjects.The board’s fee revision aims to streamline administrative costs and maintain the quality of examination processes. Students and private candidates have been advised to note these changes while applying for registration. KSEAB urged schools and private candidates to complete registration in a timely manner to avoid last-minute delays.
