Madikeri: A special grant of Rs 80 crore will be provided for the development of roads in Kodagu, said Madikeri MLA Manthar Gowda.After reviewing the development work on State Highway-85, which is underway at a cost of Rs 20 crore, the MLA stated that a grant of Rs 80 crore is in the process of being released through the public works department. The relevant file is pending the chief minister’s approval. The grant is expected to be released by Jan, after which the work will begin.The road from Alekatte to Tholur Shettalli, Koothi, which falls under State Highway-85, was narrow and lacked maintenance. The road was in a bad state due to the potholes. The villagers demanded the widening of this road for decades.
