Belagavi: Akash Satish Gudagenatti, a BA student of KLE’s Lingaraj College and Senior Under Officer of the NCC unit, was felicitated and honoured on Thursday on behalf of CM Siddaramaiah for winning a gold medal in the shooting competition of the 33rd GV Mavalankar National Shooting Championship held in Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala. In the tournament organised by National Rifle Association of India, Akash scored 535 of 600 points and won the gold medal, topping 18 young shooters from across India. He won gold medals in both the junior and senior categories and became the first NCC cadet from Karnataka. This achievement was appreciated by students, teachers, NCC officers, and KLE management. Commanding officer Colonel Sunil Dagar honoured Akash by presenting a letter of appreciation on behalf of the CM at the 26th Karnataka NCC Battalion premises in Belagavi on Thursday. Lieutenant Colonel Siddharth Redu, NCC officer Major Mahesh Guranagoudar, and SM Kallappa Patil were present.
