Bengaluru: The Karnataka urban development department published a ward-wise reservation list Thursday for the five city corporations formed under the Greater Bengaluru Authority. The notification includes the number of wards reserved for Scheduled Caste, Scheduled Tribe, Category A and B of Backward Classes, and the general category candidates in each corporation.Out of the 369 wards across the five corporations, 43 are reserved for SC, 7 for ST, 97 for OBC (A), 24 for OBC (B), and 198 for general category. Across the categories, a total of 176 wards are reserved for women. The urban development department invited objections and suggestions from the public, which must be submitted before 5.30pm on Jan 23. Those filing objections are required to provide their address along with appropriate reasons for the objections. The reservation numbers notified are as follows: Bengaluru Central city corporation: Total wards: 63; SC: 11, ST: 1, OBC(A): 15, OBC(B): 4, General: 32East city corporation: Total wards: 50; SC: 7, ST: 1, OBC (A): 14, OBC(B): 3, General: 25West city corporation: Total wards: 112; SC: 9, ST: 2, OBC(A): 30, OBC(B): 7, General: 64. North city corporation: Total wards: 72; SC: 9, ST: 2, OBC(A): 19, OBC(B): 5, General: 37. South city corporation: Total wards 72; SC: 7, ST: 1, OBC(A): 19, OBC(B): 5, General: 40.
