Belagavi: In the backdrop of Kannada Rajyotsava on Saturday, police have made massive security arrangements in Belagavi city. Many routes have been diverted for traffic.Belagavi is all set for the grand celebration of Rajyotsava, with all the roads, including the Channamma Circle, being decorated with Kannada flags. More than 7 lakh people are expected to attend the celebrations. For the first time, the state govt has sanctioned Rs 50 lakh for the celebrations.The district administration and police department held a meeting with various pro-Kannada organisations on Friday. Speaking at the meeting, DC Mohammed Roshan said that this time there is no room for a black day in the city.City police commissioner Bhushan G Borase said 180 officers, 2,300 police staff, 400 home guards, 10 KSRP troops, and eight armed reserve troops have been deployed. Parking arrangements have been made at four places: Sardar ground, CPED ground, vacant ground near Mahila police station, and court complex.The DC said in order to maintain public peace and maintain law and order during the celebration, a prohibitory order has been issued against Hatkanangale MP Dhairyashil Mane of Kolhapur district and Shiv Sena president of Kolhapur district Vijay Devane and about 25 workers from entering Belagavi district.
