State Farmers’ Association president Badgalapura Nagendra said, “Factories are not essential for job creation. The belief that they resolve all issues is merely an illusion. Financial resources alone do not enhance people’s lives. Health and life take precedence over employment.” The protesters opposed the expansion of all factories, including Kalyani, Kirloskar, Mukunda Sumi, X India, and Baldota. Chamaras Malipatil, a leader of the farmers’ movement, said, “The environment is being harmed by the dust and smoke emitted from the factories. Our crops are becoming contaminated.” Recalling the start of the struggle initiated by Abhinava Gavisiddheshwara Swami from Gavi Mutt, he urged the swami to maintain his leadership of the movement.
