Police handover Ch’durga accident victims’ bodies to families

Chitradurga: Three days after the incident, Chitradurga police handed over the bodies of the charred victims in the road accident on Sunday. At least six people were charred to death, and more than 25 others were injured after a private bus caught fire following a collision with a container truck on NH-48 near the HP petrol pump at Javanagondanahalli around midnight on Dec 26.The container lorry driver, Kuldeep Yadav, was identified on the same day. However, five passengers were charred to death in the bus, and family members failed to identify them. The police then sent samples for DNA testing, and reports were received on Sunday. Finally, the bodies of the deceased were identified as Bindu, 29, and her daughter Greya, 5, Manasa, 27, Navya, 26, and Rashmi, 24.The police also handed over jewellery that was found on the bodies to the family members. The victim’s family members received the bodies and buried them.
