Officials suspended for misusing ID cards during Hasanamba temple festival

Hassan: Two officials were suspended for dereliction of duty during the Sri Hasanamba Devi Darshan and Sri Siddeshwara Swamy Jatra Mahotsava in Hassan.The officials appointed for the festival—wardens Ramesh and Anand—from the social welfare department, were suspended by deputy commissioner KS Latha Kumari for allegedly misusing their identification cards issued to do their work.These two officers were suspended for allegedly giving their identification cards to others for temple darshan. Minister Krishna Byre Gowda stated that the first two govt officials were suspended for allowing unauthorised individuals into the Hasanamba temple premises by misusing their official ID cards.“This is a clear violation of the directives. Misusing a govt ID card is a serious offence. These two officials allowed unauthorised individuals to enter the temple using their official ID cards,” he added.“Such actions by govt employees are inappropriate and go against public interest. This is just an isolated incident. Apart from this, all govt employees have done exemplary work in ensuring the best darshan arrangements for the public. It is a team effort, and credit should be given to the officials doing a good job,” he said.
